Looking back again on Manzoor Alam Beg’s legacy

‘Aalokchitracharjo’ Manzoor Alam Beg remains the most vital figure in the background of images in Bangladesh. He devoted himself in advertising photography instruction and popularising photography as an artwork. He was honored with a title Aalokchitracharjo (The Chancellor of Images) by BPS on behalf of Bangladeshi photographer’s group. He been given the most prestigious Ekushey Podak in 2007 besides 200 more nationwide and international awards and honours.

Professionally, he served in organisations like United States Facts Providers (USIS), Dhaka 1955 – 1957 PANSDOC National Documentation Centre, Karachi 1957 – 1960 Bangladesh Nationwide Scientific and Technical Documentation Centre BANSDOC Dhaka 1963 – 1988.
