Archbishop Elpidophoros of The usa Appoints New Director of the Archdiocesan University of Byzantine New music
On Saturday, June 26, 2021, His Eminence Archbishop Elpidophoros of America elevated Mr. Georgios Theodoridis, Grasp Chanter of Saint Sophia Cathedral in Washington, DC, to the rank of Archon Mousikodidaskalos (Songs Teacher) of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America in recognition of his initiatives and contributions toward the teaching and advertising of Byzantine Songs in Washington, DC, above the previous decade. Jointly with this particular honor, His Eminence appointed Archon Georgios Theodoridis as the new Director of the Archdiocesan College of Byzantine Songs, which he formerly served in the potential of songs teacher.

Archon Georgios Theodoridis was born in Böblingen, Germany. At the age of 13, he moved to Greece, where by he graduated from the Ecclesiastical High School of Tinos and was exposed to Byzantine new music.
